Subway passengers got into the party spirit today, as Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) helped give Glasgow a sneak preview of the festivities planned for Hogmanay.
SPT Chair, Councillor George Redmond, was joined by Glasgow City Council leader Councillor Gordon Matheson and a troupe of dancers, musicians and storytellers to give commuters at Buchanan St Subway station a taste of events planned for Hogmanayday! The free, day-long celebration for family and friends is being held in George Square on December 31st.
The Subway is the easiest and quickest way to enjoy all Glasgow has to offer. So why not come to the party and then take a Shoogle home in time for the bells??

On the day, the Subway will run until 10.30pm to allow revellers to reach the party quickly and easily before heading home to see in the New Year with family and friends. The George Square party will be headlined by ceilidh band sensation Skippinish, and features a variety of bands, traditional dancers and pipers to help revellers enjoy the countdown to 2013.
Councillor Redmond said:
?Glasgow is fast becoming Scotland?s first city for celebrating Hogmanay, and this line-up is a real highlight of a spectacular programme of events over the festive season.
